DESCRIPTION :
Chamber of Architects, Samsun Service Building Architectural Project Contest
In the project field, it was necessary to fictionalize the facade very well, in order to form a designed building on a ground narrowing due to the attached buildigns and setback distances. We used a megaron which contains the logo of the chamber, as the frame along side the spider glass curtain-wall. Megaron framed facade over flat rising structure would not create the desired sensation because from such a distance, human eye could catch somewhat narrow vantage point.
For this reason, we have used one meter bridging right, which is allowed by the reconstruction regulations of Samsun Metropolitan Münicipality, at the top level by extending the roof slab one meter and uniting floor slab at the setback limit. This way, we were able to create a sloped facade. the main purpose of the design was to create catchy and monumental buildings which will be acknowledged as a reference point, as the time passes.
We tied little lighted megarons with the asymmetric bars in the rear facade (on Cumhuriyet Street) over the soundproof wall. Distinguishing lighted megarons are designed to draw attention to the facade. Glass-curtain wall for the remaining parts.
Keeping global warming, drought, pollution and consumption of natural resources in mind , this building was designed as an environment friendly one.
